A pub resurrection from the landlord of the Gunmakers; opened in
Febrary 2014. Six handpumps with a variety of interesting beers
(3.90 a pint, but given the area that's probably inevitable), and
decent keg beers too. Everything was on good form, top-ups were
automatic. Lower floor (where the toilets are) has more space, but
nothing like enough seats, and is acoustically very bright.
Certainly worth visiting if you're in the area (there's not much
competition), and quite possibly a good destination in its own
right.
