Belgian bar in a pedestrian passage. Sometimes full, sometimes empty; it seems to depend a lot on the time of week. Fairly pricey.
Start with de Koninck (permanently on draught), then ask for recommendations. Pints of chips (with mayonnaise) are also recommended.
Can be hard to find if you haven't been there before. Start from Farringdon Station. Turn left out of the station into Cowcross Street, and left again up Turnmill Street. You'll walk slightly uphill with the railway tracks on your left (behind a wall). When you get to the first bridge across the tracks (Clerkenwell Road), turn right and cross the road at your convenience. Pass a garage on the left. You'll arrive at a square set back from the road, on the left; enter this, and near the back left corner look for an alley leading directly away from the road. In this alley, Jerusalem Passage, is the Dovetail.
